Warriors without Mannering, Vatuvei for Melbourne Storm clash

7:16 am on 24 April 2013

The Warriors will be without captain Simon Mannering and powerful winger Manu Vatuvei for Thursday night's National Rugby League match against the Storm in Melbourne.

The pair are on the injured list with Vatuvei out for up to three weeks after suffering a sternum injury in the warm up ahead of their last outing against Canberra.

Vatuvei played the match but is now being rested while Mannering is recovering from a calf injury which kept him out of the Kiwis test against Australia last week.

A decision on who'll captain the side in Mannering's absence is yet to be made.

Also on the injured list is centre Dane Nielsen, who suffered a rib injury in the test match.

Long-serving centre Jerome Ropati will make his first NRL appearance of the season, having returned to full fitness after knee surgery.

Victorious Tonga wing Glen Fisiiahi replaces Vatuvei, while prop Jacob Lillyman and utilities Elijah Taylor and Pita Godinet all return to the squad.
