The prominent Australian racehorse owner John Singleton has accused his trainer Gai Waterhouse of divulging insider information.
Singleton has withdrawn all seven of his horses under Waterhouse's supervision following a televised spat between the pair at a race meet in Sydney on Saturday where his runner More Joyous had came in a disappointing second-to-last.
The 71-year-old businessman alleges that Waterhouse told her bookmaker son Tom that More Joyous was not fit for the race and he in turn told people the mare could not win it.
Singleton believes the horse should not have run the race and attacked the relationship between his trainer and her bookie son.
Tom Waterhouse denies the allegations and has threatened legal action, while Racing New South Wales has launched a formal inquiry.
