Injured former Formula One driver tests out Mercedes simulator

Robert Kubica has tried out the Mercedes team's Formula One simulator in another sign of the Polish driver's desire to return to grand prix racing.

Kubica is recovering from arm and hand injuries he suffered in a near-fatal rally crash more than two years ago.

He's currently competing in the European Rally Championship but wouldn't say how many times he drove the simulator nor how many laps he did.

Kubica last month said he'd pay all the money he has, to be able to get back in a Formula One car and compete.

A race winner with Sauber in 2008, Kubica last drove in Formula One with Renault in 2010.
