Borussia Dortmund have qualified for only their second ever Champions League football final, despite losing 2-0 to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in their second leg semi-final match.

The German club advanced to the final at Wembley 4-3 on aggregate, after winning the first semi-final 4-1.

Needing a 3-0 result and inside the last ten minutes Real seemed to have run out of steam, but a goal in the 83rd minute followed by another six minutes later sparked hopes of an incredible comeback for the home crowd.

But Dortmund withstood an agonising five minutes of stoppage time to win the tie.

For Real and coach Jose Mourinho it meant going out at the same stage for the third successive year.

Dortmund will play either Barcelona, or more likely, Bayern Munich in the final with Bayern going into Thursday's second semi-final in Spain with a 4-0 lead.
