The International Tennis Federation has confirmed its decision to award New Zealand last month's Davis Cup against Pakistan which was played in neutral Myanmar.

The referee disqualified Pakistan when it soon became clear on the first day of the tie the courts were unplayable and dangerous.

Pakistan appealed, but the ITF's Davis Cup committee has upheld the Sri Lankan referee's decision.

The tie was moved to Myanmar after New Zealand refused to visit Pakistan for safety reasons.
