The New Zealand equestrian Jock Paget can picture a long and fruitful partnership with Clifton Promise, after a stunning victory at the famous Badminton horse trial.
Paget and Clifton Promise went clear in the showjumping, meaning German Michael Jung had to do the same to win.
The World and Olympic champion knocked down a rail on the last fence to hand the title to the 29-year-old former brick-layer.
Paget says he went into the event confident in his two horses and is aiming to ride Clifton Promise at Burghley later this year, next year's world champs, and hopefully Rio 2016.
Fellow New Zealander Andrew Nicholson, who was bidding for a rare Grand Slam after winning the Burghley and Kentucky four star events, also went clear in the showjumping ring on Nereo to secure third place.
