New Zealand's Olympic kayak sprint champion Lisa Carrington has struggled in the longer 500-metre distance at the World Cup meet in Hungary.

Carrington was fifth in her semi-final, almost two seconds behind the winner, and she misses out on the A final, and will instead race in the B final.

Teneale Hatton and Rachel Dodwell qualified for the A final in the K2 500 after finishing second in their semi-final.

Ben Fouhy finished fourth in his K1 1000 semi to qualify for the B final.
