Fernando Alonso thrilled his compatriots with a dominant win at the Spanish Grand Prix, thanking his fans for a fantasically emotional occasion.
From fourth position on the starting grid, Alonso won the 32nd title of his career by nine seconds from Kimi Raikkonen, followed by his Ferrari teammate Felipe Massa, and the Red Bulls of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber.
The pole-sitting German Nico Rosberg of Mercedes finished sixth.
In the drivers' championship, Alonso jumped to third with 72 points behind leader Vettel on 89 and Raikkonen on 85.
