The Melbourne Rebels have put a serious dent in the New South Wales Waratahs' surge to the Super Rugby finals with a 24-22 upset win on Friday night - the Victorian side's first-ever win over the Waratahs.
The loss could be a near-fatal blow to the Waratahs' finals hopes given they were already outside the top six heading into the match.
The result brought to an end the Waratahs' run of three successive wins while it was the Rebels' fourth of the season.
