Recently named the NBA basketball competition's most valuable player for a fourth time, Le Bron James has lived up to his billing to give the Miami Heat a thrilling 103-102 overtime win over the Indiana Pacers in game one of the Eastern Conference finals.

Indiana's Paul George, sank a three-pointer with just over half a second left on the clock to force overtime.

Miami the defending champions were then two points up with just over two seconds left in extra time when George sank three free throws to put Indiana ahead by a point.

But with Miami's last throw of the dice, James received the ball and drove down the lane for a straightforward layup to give the defending champions a one nil lead in the best of seven series.

Game Two is also in Miami on Saturday while in the Western Conference, the San Antonio Spurs lead the Memphis Grizzlies 2-0 ahead of Game Three on Sunday.
