The Team New Zealand head Grant Dalton expects the new safety recommendations to be adopted for the America's Cup.

The four teams are expected to meet with officials over the next 24 hours and accept the changes that were brought about following the death of Artemis sailor Andrew Simpson.

Tom Ehman of the Golden Gate Yacht Club has said that safety recommendations will be made rules of the event, although Dalton says the rules also state that all the teams have to agree to it first.

Team New Zealand had their first outing on San Francisco Bay on Friday. Dalton says it's significant as its almost six years to the day since they were last on an America's Cup course.
