A number of golf's biggest names have failed to fire at the European Tour's PGA Championship at Wentworth.

The two-time defending champion, Luke Donald, world number two, Rory McIlroy and Ryder Cup team-mates Ian Poulter and Graeme McDowell have all missed the halfway cut on the Tour's flagship event.

The New Zealander, Michael Campbell, also struggled in miserable conditions as he shot a second round 78 to miss the cut at 11-over-par for the tournament.

Italy's Francesco Molinari flourished in the testing conditions as he fired a four under 68 to take the lead with a six under total.

British pair Marc Warren and Mark Foster, Spain's Alejandro Canizares and South African George Coetzee were all one stroke off the pace.
