Bad light brings relief to Black Caps

10:25 am on 28 May 2013

Bad light at Headingley ended day four of the second cricket test a few overs early meaning the Black Caps will at least extend the match into the final day.

Set a monster target by England of 468 to win, New Zealand made an encouraging start to reach 144 for three before losing the wickets of Dean Brownlie, Ross Taylor and Martin Guptill within the space of 10 runs.

Taylor top-scored with 70.

The weather aside, an England victory is inevitable with the Black Caps 158 for six in their second innings, still 310 runs away from their target.
