The Hurricanes flanker Ardie Savea has been named captain of the New Zealand under-20 squad that's left for France for the IRB Junior World Championship, which kicks off next week.
The coach Chris Boyd says the annual tournament showcases the best of young and emerging talent in world rugby and his players know they must work hard to be competitive.
Boyd is confident they can claim the trophy back after coming runner-up to South Africa last year, the first time New Zealand lost the tournament since its inception in 2008.
