Brisbane police have questioned South Sydney rugby league forward Ben Te'o as part of their investigations into assault allegations against the 26 year-old.

The Auckland-born Te'o left the Queensland State of Origin camp at Coolum on the Sunshine Coast to attend an interview at Ferny Grove police station.

It's understood he had his lawyers with him during the interview after 22 year-old woman Katie Lewis gave police a statement alleging she was assaulted.

Lewis has told the Nine Network that Te'o punched her in the face, fracturing her eye socket, at a Brisbane house in April, also attended by fellow NRL players Corey Norman and Darius Boyd.

Te'o has strongly denied any wrongdoing and no charges have been laid against him.
