Freakish Highlanders beat Blues

The Highlanders have finally produced a performance worthy of their star studded roster

by beating the Blues 38-28 last night in Dunedin.

In just their second win of the season, the last placed Highlanders wrapped up the game with a bonus point try after 30 minutes when they got out to a 29-nil lead.

The Blues scored just before half time to go into the break 29-7.

The Highlanders fullback Ben Smith scored two tries which should cement his place in the All Blacks when the team to face France is named later today.

Elsewhere in Super Rugby, the Reds have beaten the Rebels 33-20, the Kings lost to the Stormers 19-11 and the Bulls toppled the Cheetahs 30-25.
