The Breakers new Head Coach Dean Vickerman has appointed former player Paul Henare as his Assistant Coach.
Vickerman knew even before he was appointed that the man known as 'Pauli' was the right person for the job.
Henare says he's delighted to be 'coming home' to the club where he ended his 250 game career with the first of three consecutive championships in 2011.
He's currently coaching the Southland Sharks in the National Basketball League.
The only other player to have had his number retired is also staying on with the club, with Dillon Boucher taking a front office role.
