One day series win on offer for Black Caps

5:17 pm on 2 June 2013

The New Zealand cricketers can gain a much needed confidence boost if they win the second one dayer against England tonight in Southampton.

A win will give the Black Caps the three match series with a game to spare.

It would be a major boost for the side ahead of the looming Champions Trophy, after the test series loss.

While the Black Caps lost the one day series against England here during the summer they've won six of their last seven games in England.

The England captain Alastair Cook says his batsmen get the chance to right things straight away with only a day between games.

He says they were also in the same situation in the one day series in New Zealand, when they came from one nil down to win the series here.
