Dan Carter unlikely to be risked in first test against France

The All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster says they're unlikely to risk first five Dan Carter in this weekend's opening test against France at Eden Park.

Carter has a cracked bone in his hand and took very little part in Tuesday's training session.

Meanwhile Foster says the doctors are happy with halfback Piri Weepu's progress from concussion, but no decision has been made on his availability.

All the props, except Tony Woodcock, took part in training.

The team is named on Thursday.
