New Zealand will have two representatives in next week's US golf open, after Steven Alker came through a qualifying event in California today.
The 41-year-old professional finished second at six-under in the two round event to claim one of the five berths on offer for the year's second major in Pennsylvania.
Alker joins fellow New Zealander Michael Campbell in the field at the Merion Golf Club. Campbell has a 10-year exemption into the event after his 2005 US Open victory.
