The New Zealand tennis number one Marina Erakovic has scored an emphatic first round victory at the Birmingham grass court tournament in Britain.
Erakovic has beaten 18-year-old Ukranian Elina Svitolina 6-0 6-1.
Erakovic, who is now ranked 71 in the world, was able to dominate the Ukranian's serve.
Erakovic will play second seed Ekaterina Makarova of Russia in the second round.
Meanwhile Erakovic has achieved a career high ranking in doubles of 28, after her quarter-final run at the French Open.
Erakovic and Cara Black are also playing doubles in Birmingham this week.
The next Grand Slam event, Wimbledon, is just two weeks away.
