Plumtree's Sharks run comes to an end

The New Zealander John Plumtree will end his run as Sharks coach next month.

Plumtree, who has been at the South African Super Rugby franchise since 2006, will effectively be replaced by Brendan Venter, who has been appointed as Director of Rugby.

Incoming Sharks chief executive officer John Smit says Plumtree's contract will not be extended.

The Sharks are curently 10th in this year's Super Rugby standings.

Plumtree won the Currie Cup with the Sharks in 2008 and 2010 and also made the Super Rugby final last year.
