Former Wales winger answers Lions' SOS call

The former World Rugby Player of the Year Shane Williams has answered an SOS call from Warren Gatland and been rushed into the British and Irish Lions lineup to play the ACT Brumbies in Canberra on Tuesday night.

With injuries striking several key backs a week out from the Lions' first Test against the Wallabies, Gatland's drafted the 36-year-old Williams onto the wing for a one-off appearance on tour.

Williams played the last of his 87 Tests for Wales against Australia in 2011.

Gatland is facing a mini backline crisis, with winger George North, centres Jamie Roberts and Manu Tuilagi all injured and in doubt for the first-Test.
