The Miami Heat forward LeBron James won his second successive NBA basketball Finals Most Valuable Player award after leading his team to victory over the San Antonio Spurs in the championship decider.

James scored a game-high 37 points in Miami's 95-88 win.

The 28-year-old also won the award last year when Miami beat the Oklahoma City Thunder to win the championship.

Four times in the last five seasons, he has been named MVP during the regular season, but was also widely criticised after leaving his former team Cleveland Cavaliers for Miami in search NBA championship rings.
