The highly fancied combination of triple world champion Peter Bellis, and Shane Sincock have been embarrassed on the way to qualifying for the post section play of the men's pairs at the National Open Bowls Championships in Auckland.
The duo was humbled by little known Coromandel pair Colin Gawith and Cliff Oliff in their four round match 23-2.
Meanwhile national squad member, Jamie Hill, and his partner have failed to make post section play as has fellow national rep Shaun O'Neil and his partner.
