Hayden weighs up cricketing future

Matthew Hayden is weighing up his cricketing future following his omission from the Australian Twenty20 and one-day squads to play South Africa.

The 37-year-old Queenslander has had a lean trot this summer, only averaging under 20 in the Test series loss.

National chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch says the decision to drop the out-of-form opener wasn't related to his Test match form.

He says in the Twenty20 World Cup in June in England they will be picking a side with an emphasis on youth and their view is that Hayden won't make the 2011 one day world cup tournament.

Hilditch says they have to look to the future.
