The former world number one golfer Ernie Els was left to rue a pair of missed putts from inside three feet at the PGA Tour's season-opening Mercedes-Benz Championship.
After carding a four under par 69 at the Kapalua Resort, Els told reporters he could have had a low one if he made some putts.
But he says it's the first week of the year and I knows he's just got to be patient.
The current world number nine and 2003 champion is two strokes behind the pacesetting Australian Geoff Ogilvy, who's at 11-under.
