The NFL team the Chicago Bears have hired former Detroit Lions head coach Rod Marinelli.
The 59-year-old Marinelli will serve as the Bears' line coach/assistant head coach.
He was the defensive line coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1996-2005 before a three-year stint as head coach of the Lions from 2006.
Marinelli, 10-38 during his tenure in Detroit, was fired after the Lions lost all 16 games this season.
