All Blacks fullback set to return after six months lay off

The concussion plagued All Blacks fullback Leon MacDonald is set to return to the field for the first time in six months, when the Crusaders play the Western Force in Perth on Friday night, in a Super 14 warmup match.

MacDonald hasn't played since the tri-nations test against South Africa in Dunedin in July, when he suffered his latest bout of concussion.

The 56 test veteran says says he feels fully fit and is looking forward to the season ahead after months of rehabilitation and says he's now sympton free.

MacDonald, who's 32, has 111 caps for the Crusaders and is closing in on Reuben Thorne's Crusaders record of 129 caps.

The side heads to Perth tomorrow.
