The English football club Chelsea have submitted a claim for wrongful dismissal regarding the sending-off of their midfielder Frank Lampard during yesterday's Premiership defeat away to Liverpool.
Chelsea lost 2-nil at Anfield, a result that leaves them five points behind leaders Manchester United, after Fernando Torres scored two late goals.
But a tight game swung Liverpool's way in the 60th minute when referee Mike Riley ruled Lampard's sliding tackle on Xabi Alonso, which won the ball but also caught the player, was worthy of a straight red card.
