An impressive list of sporting performances from last year will be recognised at the Halberg Awards dinner in Auckland tonight.
Olympic performances dominate the finalists with gold medalists Tom Ashley, Valerie Vili and Caroline and Georgina Evers Swindell amoung the leading contenders in their respective categories.
Motor racing driver Scott Dixon will give Ashley a run for his money in the men's section, while the world champion Kiwi rugby League team and track cycling pursuit team and the All Blacks are other contenders in the teams section.
