Rain delays start and threatens decider

6:38 pm on 13 February 2009

The deciding game in the Chappell-Hadlee one day cricket series is in doubt after heavy overnight rain in Brisbane with rain still falling at the time of the scheduled toss almost an hour ago.

The Gabba is well drained but with more rain forecast it looks unlikely the weather will clear long enough for field to dry.

With the series tied 2-all the Black Caps, as current holders, will retain the trophy if the match is a wash-out.
