Blues off to good start in Super 14

The Blues have started the Super 14 season with an away bonus point win over the Western Force in Perth.

Down 14-3 after 27 minutes, thhe Blues scored four tries in a 22 minutes burst to take control of the game.

The Highlanders however were not so lucky. They outscored theh Brumbies five tries ot four in Dunedin, but lost 33-31 after Christian Lealiifano dropped a goal in the last minute.

The Highlanders started impressively, racing in three tries in the first 20 minutes to lead 19-0. But then they faded and with less than 10 minutes to play the Brumbies lead 30-19.

Two late tries put the Highlanders in front, the last with two minutes to play.

However, the Brumbies were able to work themselves in to a position for the drop goal.

In the third game played overnight the Lions beat the Cheetahs 34-28 in Johannesburg. The scores were tied 28-28 with a few minutes to play but two smart drop goals gave the Lions the win.
