Otago and Auckland top Twenty20 competition

Otago sit top of the State Twenty20 cricket championship after scoring a 21 run victory over Northern Districts in Dunedin.

Otago made 191 for four after being put into bat... Aaron Redmond hitting 80 off 51 balls with Northern making 170 for eight in reply... Brad Wilson scoring 91 off 53 balls.

Auckland are second on run-rate after a 3 wicket victory over Wellington at Eden Park and Shane Bond took 4 for 19 as Canterbury beat Central by 13 runs in Christchurch.

Otago and Auckland have 16 points, Canterbury and Wellington 12, Central 4 and Northern none.

The next round is on Wednesday.
