The young New Zealand golf star Danny Lee says he fed off one of his playing partners as he climbed onto the leaderboard at the 3.6 million dollar Johnnie Walker Classic in Perth.
The US amateur champion hit an opening round 5 under par 67, which has him tied for 7th, three strokes behind the leader Robert-Jan Derksen of the Netherlands.
One of Lee's playing partners is second placed Mardan Mamat, who he has played with before, and he followed the Singaporians lead....

The defending champion, Wellington's Mark Brown and the New Zealand number one David Smail both had 2-under par 70s, and they're tied for 44th.
