Kuwait do enough to see off Auckland City

Two first half goals were good enough for 10 man Kuwait to get past Auckland in a football friendly at City's home ground in Mt Roskill last night.

Kuwait is in New Zealand to prepare for an Asian Cup qualifier against Australia nerxt month and looked set to go up a gear in the second half after goals to Bader Almutwa and Fahed Al-Rashidi,

However, a studs-up tackle by Talal Alamer on Chad Coombes five minutes after the break removed that threat with Kuwait's remaining 10 men content to conserve energy and protect their lead.

They play Waitakere United on Friday night in their final warm-up before going to Australia.
