The Indian batsman Rahul Dravid has made the most of a chance to get in some batting practice before the Test cricket series against New Zealand, scoring 102 for Canterbury in a State Championship match against Central Districts.
Canterbury reached 388 for five in Rangiora with Michael Papps and Johannes Myburgh also scoring centuries.
Wellington won the toss in Dunedin and bowled out Otago for 174 but were 94 for five at stumps while Auckland made 277 against Northern Districts at Whangarei, Scott Styris top-scoring with 95.
