The New Zealand golfer David Smail says he's very happy for his former junior team-mate Steve Alker who won the New Zealand PGA Championship in Christchurch yesterday.
Alker won by 2 shots from Smail and another New Zealander Josh Geary.
Smail and Alker are both from Hamilton and Smail says if it couldn't be him, then he was more than happy to see his old mate take the title....
Alker's win gives him a 2-year excemption on the US nationwide tour.
The golfers now head to Queenstown for this week's New Zealand Open.
