Liverpool storm in Champions League quarters

The English football club Liverpool has stormed into the Champions League quarter-finals, thrashing Real Madrid 4-0 at Anfield with a dazzling display of attacking football.

Dynamic captain Steven Gerrard celebrated 100 European appearances in the second leg tie with two goals, while Spainish striker Fernando Torres and substitute Andrea Dossena also found the back of the net.

In other action, Chelsea drew 2-all with Juventus but go through on aggregate, Bayern Munich thrashed Sporting Lisbon 7-1 to advance and Villarreal scraped past Panathinaikos 2-1 and go through 3-2 on aggregate.

The other last 16 matches will be played tomorrow.
