New Zealand star Webb ends injury nightmare

The Kiwis rugby league fullback Brent Webb has handed Super League champions Leeds Rhinos a major boost ahead of the weekend's home game against Wigan.

Webb has been out of action since the grand final elimination game against Wigan last September with a back injury which also forced him to sit out the World Cup, but the 28-year-old is set to make his comeback ahead of schedule.

Leeds coach Brian McClennan believes Webb, an indigenous Australian of Torres Strait Islander origin who's played 17 times for the Kiwis since taking New Zealand citizenship, is ready to make a big impact on the Rhinos' Super League challenge.
