White Ferns wilt at World Cup

The New Zealand women have lost their first Super Six match at the World Cup in Sydney by 30 runs after England won the toss and made 201 for five.

The White Fern bowlers, backed up by outstanding ground fielding, restricted England to 142 for four from 43 overs.

But England made the most of their batting power play to add 55 runs in that five over spell.

And demanding line and length bowling saw the White Ferns batters depart regularly with the final wicket falling in the 49th over, skipper Haidee Tiffin top-scoring with 53.

England's skipper Charlotte Edwards took four for 37 to complete a fine double after top-scoring with 57.
