King -Turner keeps local hopes alive

The New Zealand number two Dan King-Turner has kept local hopes alive after a strong

win in the quarter-finals of the Pro Circuit tennis Futures tournament in Hamilton.

King-Turner beat Australian Rameez Junaid 6-4 7-6(2) to advance to his first semifinal of the year.

Junaid won last week's tournament at North Harbour and had beaten King Turner in their two previous matches.

King-Turner will plays the Japanese second seed Tatsuma Ito who ousted the New Zealand number one Rubin Statham 7-6(5) 6-4.

The top seed Catsten Ball of Australia will play the Chinese Davis Cup player and qualifier Ze Zhang in the other semi-final.
