The Newcastle Knights scored a courageous 24-12 win over the Cronulla Sharks in last night's National Rugby League match after losing their star playmaker Jarrod Mullen and two more players to injury.
Mullen eventually succumbed to a hip injury in the 23rd minute, and the Knights played the final quarter of the match with only one man on the bench.
Cronulla were without injured stars Ben Ross and Brett Kearney, as well as their suspended halfback Brett Seymour who took the unusual step of publicly apologising for a drunken night out before kick-off.
