NZ umpire makes elite panel

New Zealand's Tony Hill has been appointed to the International Cricket Council's elite panel of umpires, joining Billy Bowden as one of the top tier of match officials.

New Zealand Cricket's Chief Executive Justin Vaughan says Hill has been an outstanding umpire for many years in New Zealand and overseas and his promotion reflects well on the standard of umpiring in this country.
