The Olympic 1500 metre bronze medallist, Nick Willis, expects to be back to full fitness within a couple of months, as he targets a return to competitive racing at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in August.

The 25-year-old, who took gold in the same event at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, was forced to pull out of a mile race in Christchurch two weeks ago after suffering a hip injury.

Willis says so long as his rehab continues to plan he should be ready to compete in some warm up races by the middle of the year, but Germany remains his number one goal.
