Jenson Button is refusing to get carried away with his sudden promotion to race favourite for the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.

Button, with just one win in nine years has been thrust in to the spotlight as favouyrite for Melbourne after his new Brawn GP team made a stunning debut at winter testing.

Hailed as a potential world champion when he made his debut for Williams in 2000, the 29-year-old Briton is well aware of the harsh realities of Formula One after managing just one grand prix win in Huingary in 2006.

His hopes of adding to that total lay in ruins just a few months when his Honda team announced they were pulling out of the championship, before he was thrown the unexpected Brawn lifeline.

Button says he is not getting carried away with the testing results. He says they have to be transferred to an actual race.
