3:51 pm on 28 March 2009

The New Zealand batsman Jesse Ryder has proved to be just as important with the ball as he picked up a valuable Indian wicket on day three of the second test in Napier.

After scoring a double century yesterday, Ryder has had Rahul Dravid caught behind for 83.

Chris Martin has had Yuvraj Singh caught behind for no score with India now 253 for 6 in reply to New Zealand's first innings of 619 for 9.

India must make 420 to avoid the follow-on.

The players are at tea.
