The Australian number one needed just 65 minutes to dismiss the seventh seed Diego Junqueira 6-0 6-2.
He'll face another Argentine, Sergio Roitman, for a place in the quarter-finals afgter the top two seeds, Americans James Blake and Mardy Fish, were eliminated.
