Chiefs keen to get back into action

7:08 am on 17 April 2009

The Chiefs return from their bye week to take on the Cheetahs in round 10 of the Super 14 rugby competition in Kimberley this weekend.

The Cheetahs clash is the Chiefs' first game of three matches in South Africa this season. It's also the Chiefs' first time playing in Kimberley, in the Northern Cape.

The Chiefs coach Ian Foster says they're expecting a huge battle with a Cheetahs team that will have grown in confidence after their big win over the Sharks last weekend.

Changes to the Chiefs line-up for Sunday's early morning clash include Ben May switching to loosehead prop, James McGougan earning a starting spot at tighthead prop, lock Kevin O'Neill returning to the tight five and Tim Mikkelson starting on the wing in his first Super 14 match for the Chiefs.

Mikkelson, a Chiefs wider training group player and New Zealand Sevens representative, was called into the Chiefs squad for the South African trip to cover injuries to wingers James Wilson and Lelia Masaga.
