Defending V8 Supercars champion Jamie Whincup continues to dominate the new season after taking the win in the first race at the Hamilton 400.
Whincup started second on the grid but took over the lead from fellow Ford driver and pole sitter Mark Winterbottom early in the 59 lap race.
Winterbottom finished second with the Holden of Lee Holdsworth third.
Whincup has now won the first 3 races of the new season.
Fabien Coulthard in a Ford was the best placed New Zealander in 6th place, while Shane Van Gisbergen in a Ford was 9th.
The second Hamilton race is tomorrow.
